I backed into my garage door today.
Mental note #3: After pressing the garage door button, wait for the garage door to open before backing out.
Mental note #4: Always look behind you when backing up.

Forgetful Sally Goes to Target
Due to the kindness of Dear Friend, I had the opportunity to go shopping alone today with a $50 gift certificate. I intended to spend it wholly on myself, an unusual endeavor. I put one pumpkin down for a nap and left the other one playing happily with Dear Friend. The weather outside was a balmy 40 degrees, so I left my down winter coat on the night along with her unnecessary diaper bag and whisked off to Target for a shopping spree.
At the store, I perused each department, making sure I didn't forget anything on my list (I was of course going to pick up all her necessary household needs to save another trip to Target at a later date). I gathered diapers, kleenex, cooking equipment laundry detergent, and all those little things that make her house run smoothly. Finally I made it to the cosmetics isle where she spent her time picking out some things "just for her" (the directions from Dear Friend that came with the gift certificate). At last I was ready to check out. It was busy at Target today, and there weren't very many tellers, so I had to wait in line. Finally it was my turn. The teller ran everything through. The bill came to $151.
I did NOT forget the $50 gift certificate from Dear Friend. Nor did I forget the two $5 gift certificates I had been saving for being a frequent customer at Target. However I DID forget her debit card--left it in the unnecessary diaper bag. After the discovery of this fact, I had to slowly go through each item in my cart, subtracting them from the total, until I had reduced the total to $60. My present from Dear Friend seemed to have dwindled to almost nothing, and then I realized that the economy-sized laundry detergent had not yet been subtracted. I looked with dismay at the growing line behind md, and pleaded with the teller if they could please try again, this time without the laundry detergent.
In the end, I left the store with a very light bag, but at least not empty-handed.
Mental Note #1: Check the location of your debit card, drivers license wallet, and telephone before leaving the house.
Mental Note #2: Always put your debit card back in your wallet after using it. Do not place it loosely in your pocket or your diaper bag/purse.
